# API Key Generation

After logging into the portal using username and password, the following steps are followed sequentially

Click on API Definitions > New Key from the left menu. Fill in the information on the appeared screen.

* You can enter a reminder value for the relevant key in the Description field. Example: X ERP Integration, etc.
* The expiration date specifies how long the API key will be valid. You can leave it blank to set it as unlimited.

Note: The generated key is displayed only once. Be sure to copy the key and save it to the relevant fields in your applications.
